BUMBLEBEE TOWER CASTLE
Castle built on a strategic site equipped with a bell to ring the tocsin in order to warn in case of invasion.
On the site of an old wooden tower from the 9th century, a castle built on a strategic site equipped with a bell to ring the tocsin in order to warn in case of invasion. There are only ruins left but they are worth a visit because the place gives a good idea of what a fortified mound could be in the Middle Ages. To get there, take the D9 towards Quincié/Villefranche and, opposite the Château de la Pierre, follow the signs for "Le Clairon". The Tower is at the exit of the hamlet.
