Built from 1168 onwards, this church is a harmonious blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles.
Built from 1168 onwards, it blends Romanesque and Gothic styles in a very harmonious way. Its beautiful Romanesque portal, topped by a rose window, dates from 1175. The sculpted capitals of the pillars show a whole medieval bestiary. The nave with nine bays, 63 m long and 17 m wide, illuminated by the original narrow Romanesque windows and bays rebuilt in the 19th century is of a beautiful elevation. The siren of the Porte du Midi comes back to life when the Saône is in flood!
