CASTLE OF CHAMOUSSET
This castle was restored between 1860 and 1880 by the architect Duthoit, disciple of Viollet-le-Duc.
It was demolished in 1283, rebuilt a century later and restored between 1860 and 1880 by the architect Duthoit, a disciple of Viollet-le-Duc. François I stayed here around 1530 and granted the privilege of building a market hall in the village to house fairs and markets; this was located on today's Place du Plâtre, of which only the pump remains. During the Second World War, the Count and Countess de Saint-Victor put the château at the disposal of resistance fighters led by Colonel Mary-Basset. It was here that the liberation of Lyon was organized.
