CHURCH
Church housing valuable furnishings, many of which are listed.
In the 13th century, the canons-counts of Lyon bought and demolished most of the castle to build a Romanesque church in its place. Two centuries later, Pierre Girard, a cardinal born in Saint-Symphorien, decided to have a large and beautiful Gothic church built in which he wanted to be buried. The shape of the church is quite original. Over the years, the interior of the church has been enriched with valuable furniture, most of which is listed. Loopholes prove that the church was used as a fortress in case of conflicts.
