SAINT-ANDRÉ CHURCH
Two churches, two eras, one harmonious and singular building in Tarare.
An imposing building. The church is characterized by two adjoining buildings built at different times: a classical church from the 18th century, oriented east-west, and a neo-Gothic church from the end of the 19th century, oriented north-south! The first one should have been destroyed when the second one was built, but the war of 1870 interrupted the projects and finally the two were kept and connected. This ensemble has merged into a harmonious and singular building. The interior houses a beautiful gilded wooden altarpiece from the 17th century.
