THE CHAPEL OF BEL AIR
A place of worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the best point of view to contemplate the city in Tarare.
Dominating the city, the chapel, built in the 17th century on the hill of Bel Air, is a place of worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the best viewpoint to contemplate the city. Very quickly damaged by the harshness of the climate, it was completely rebuilt in 1755. For the most courageous - with a significant difference in altitude - it is possible to reach the chapel on foot by following the Way of the Cross. For the others, a carriage road leads to the site. Please note that the chapel is only open for organised visits, please enquire.
