THE TOWER OF MARTIN'S PREBEND TOWER
Tower housing a magnificent spiral staircase of Renaissance style which leads to the last of the 5 levels in Tarare.
Also called "the Tower of the Castle", this late 15th century tower bears the name of the priest who had it built. Restored by the city in 1980, it houses a magnificent Renaissance-style spiral staircase that leads to the last of the 5 landings, on a platform from which one can overlook the old part of the city. Two restored rooms are dedicated to the local heritage. A third one is dedicated to the textile memory. A masterpiece of architecture to visit.
