GATE CASTLE
This castle has become a cultural center, offering a wide range of activities and events throughout the year.
The "château" is a collection of buildings from different periods. It was in the 16th century that two Lyonnais aldermen - Aymon de la Porte and his son Hugues, printers on rue Mercière - set up a "field house" to escape the city. The buildings were modified, notably by Anne de Buffevent in the 17th century, and are now renovated, as is the admirable park with its ponds. Saved from ruin in the 1970s, the château is now a cultural center offering a wide range of activities and events throughout the year.
