CHURCH AND CHAPEL OF ST. GORGES
Parish church in Thizy-les-Bourgs, where a Virgin and Child is remarkably preserved in the north transept.
Of the original fortress, all that remains is an 11th century castral chapel, which became a parish church and was reworked in the 15th and 16th centuries. Many of the town's burghers contributed to this work and can be seen in several 15th century wall paintings: Descent from the Cross, Entombment, Crucifixion, etc. In the north transept, a Virgin and Child is remarkably preserved. Interesting furniture: stoup, statues and a sculpted pulpit from the 16th century.
