HIPPODROME DU CARRE DE SOIE-LYON LA SOIE
The Hippodrome du Carré de Soie was originally named'Hippodrome de Villeurbanne '. The site was created in 1889 in Vaulx-en-Velin. Now, completely renovated, the hippodrome is integrated into the shopping and leisure cluster of the Square of Silk which hosts 52 signs in its commercial part (Castorama, Boulanger, Jardiland, Joseph Gibert, H & M, France Arno…), 14 restaurants (Hippopotamus, Courtepaille, O Sushi, Au Bureau, Subway, Pizza, Villa…) and a cinema Pathé from 14 rooms. and a UCPA centre for its leisure part. This is a unique concept in France! The race meetings are between January and December with a Summer Truce. In the heart of the commercial complex of the Carré de Silk implanted on 500 hectares, the Carré du Carré de Silk extends over 16 hectares of which 4 hectares are devoted to trot and gallop.
