CHATEAU DE VAUX
Located in the heart of the village of Vaux-en-Beaujolais, just opposite the church, you'll have no trouble finding it. It's well worth the detour. The building is majestic, and the cellar matches it. Huge oak barrels at the entrance and a pretty 12th-century stone cellar await you for the tasting, which Marie-Ange de Vermont will be delighted to supervise. Family-owned for five generations, the domaine produces Beaujolais-Villages. A warm welcome awaits you at the estate, which is open to the public and features works by artists selected at the Clochemerle Biennials of Figurative Art. And don't forget to make a detour to the village square, where the famous pissotières are enthroned.
