Céramiques du Beaujolais specialise in the manufacture of terracotta tiles - such as the famous tomettes. Its ancestral know-how has earned it recognition as a Living Heritage Company.

History. Like many French regions, Beaujolais has seen its floors covered with terracotta tiles. Many workshops have been able to take advantage of abundant clay deposits and have allowed this material to have a humble but noble presence in the local habitat.

From the imposing and robust farms of Haut-Beaujolais to the refined residences on the banks of the Saône, terracotta has always found its place.

The presence of terracotta tiles, numerous and diverse in their colours: from red to golden yellow, and their dimensions: square tiles, hexagonal tiles, rectangles... only proves its ability to adapt to all styles.

Passionate about this long history and the possibilities offered by this material, the Céramiques du Beaujolais workshop - which is located in Villefranche-sur-Saône, north of Lyon - perpetuates and updates this know-how, by manufacturing a whole range of terracotta tiles, in all shapes, sizes and colours and thus adapting itself to contemporary housing as well as to the renovation of Heritage and Historic Monuments.
