Alpina Savoie is the oldest semolina miller in France. It owns one of the last five durum wheat mills in France. At the end of the 20th century, the company built the new pasta and couscous factory in Chambéry-Bissy, then the most modern durum wheat mill in Europe and created a 100% French specific durum wheat sector. It took the name of Alpina Savoie in 2003 with the merger between the company Chiron-Moulins de Savoie and its subsidiary C. Richard - Pâtes Alpina. In 2008, it became the first organic pasta manufacturer.
