The oil mill, restored after 40 years of inactivity, is undoubtedly one of Chanaz's most important sites. Built in 1868, it now allows, by returning to service, to discover a profession of the past, in danger of disappearing, that of millmaker. The mill's bucket wheel, tirelessly driven by the water of the Biez, sets in motion the gears that turn the millstone... Nuts and hazelnuts deliver through this mechanical game the precious oil that gourmets appreciate. It is always good to know that in addition to their refined taste, these oils also have preventive properties regarding cardiovascular diseases....

Endroit très sympathique où l'on retrouve les traditions d'antan, en l'occurrence celles du moulin. Le bâtiment avec sa grande roue à eau ainsi que tous les éléments relatifs à la transformation de la noix en farine nous font revenir au XIXème siècle.
Petit moulin restauré avec soins. Intérressant pour les familles et les enfants (la force de l'eau faisant tourner la roue).Un endroit hors du temps, on est imprégné directement par l odeur et l ambiance, on écoute attentivement les explications, et nous réjouissons à déguster leur différents produits, un régal!

One of the rare Oil Mills still in service in France and it is very well to leave with superb hazelnut oil and walnut. The owner while assuring its production explains the manufacturing process at ease. You spend a good time. do not hesitate to try the other products shop all of these nuts.
