Located in the heart of lush vegetation, this "jewel in harmony with nature since 1845", as the company likes to put it in its slogan, J.M is one of the island's last artisanal distilleries. Sugar cane, grown on the fertile volcanic soil of Habitation Bellevue, benefits from ideal conditions to produce an exceptional raw material. The carefully designed tour offers a unique sensory immersion, from fermentation to the distillation columns. From 2025, (after Carnival), the site will inaugurate a new, more immersive and interactive circuit, providing a better experience for visitors. The visit inevitably ends with a visit to the boutique, where you can taste rare single casks and exceptional aged rums. And the collection of J.M. rums is well-stocked: from traditional whites to exclusive vieux, with a whole range of ateliers and bitters.
In addition to all this, the distillery is also offering a new activity: it is now possible to book a buggy escapade (lasting 1 hour) in collaboration with partner Trial Caraïbes. The route, linking Basse-Pointe to Grand-Rivière, offers a captivating discovery of trails lined with vegetation, discreet waterfalls and historical stories linked to the rum culture. The experience concludes with a visit to the J.M. distillery, where the richness of this emblematic terroir is explored in greater depth.
