The town of Sainte-Marie, birthplace of the Saint-James plantation and rum, celebrates the end of the sugar cane harvest every year. Rum tastings, shows, artists' exhibitions, musical evenings and craft stands selling jewellery and clothing are all part of the program. For the occasion, rare bottles of rum and old vintages can be sold. To be consumed with moderation, of course. The event takes place at the seaside.
