SAINT -JAMES RUM MUSEUM
The museum is located in a in the former creole house of the previous owners dating back to 1874. It traces the history of agricultural rum in Martinique from old engravings, old bottles, advertizing posters, farm equipment, sugarcane growing methods, the improvment of industrial techniques and the equipment used since the arrival of sugarcane in Martinique in 1654 and by Saint James in 1765.. During the visit , you can view a documentary film on the development of agricultural rum of Martinique. In December, the museum holds the rum festival, great traditional, popular and tourist event. An exceptional welcome.
Outside, in an authentic green setting, you'll discover the ancient mills, boilers, steam machines and the distillation house with its stills and distilling columns. You can end your tour with the former plantation train through the sugarcane fields for 3 kilometers.
