PUERTA DE TIERRA
Exhibition room to discover some replicas of Spanish weapons and a large bronze cannon of French origin.
Built in 1732 by Don Antonio de Figueroa y Silva, it is located between the baluartes of San Francisco and San Juan. It is the symbol of Campeche, the gateway to the city by land, which allowed it to be defended from every possible angle. In a small exhibition room you can see some replicas of Spanish weapons, as well as a large bronze cannon of French origin from Lerma. In addition to the visit to the fort, you can watch the sound and light show El Lugar del Sol, which re-enacts the pirate attacks that have marked the history of the city.
