The urban area of Isla del Carmen offers several beaches ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and relaxing, whether for a drink or water-skiing. Playa Norte, just ten minutes from the center and bordering the Gulf of Mexico, is perfect for watching the sunset. Playa Manigua and Playa Caracol are on the other side, along the Laguna de los Términos. At the far end of the island, towards Isla Aguada, the wilder Playa Tortugueros offers a more authentic seaside experience.
