MUSEO DE LA CIUDAD
Museum that traces the historical development of the white capital in Merida
Housed in the former Palacio de Correos, a beautiful turn-of-the-century building inaugurated by General Porfirio Díaz in 1908, this museum traces the historical development of the "white capital. The tour begins in pre-Hispanic times, when the mythical T'ho people formed one of the most important Mayan civilizations of the peninsula, and ends with the economic and cultural boom for which modern Mérida is known. The second floor of the museum is dedicated to the visual arts through temporary exhibitions.
