Monument that houses works from the 17th to the 19th century in Merida
Located near Hidalgo Park, this 17th century monument, which belonged to the Jesuits at the time, now houses works dating from the 17th to 19th centuries. One of the rooms is dedicated to Juan Gamboa Guzmán (1853-1892), considered the most illustrious Yucatan painter of his time. You can also see the works of Gabriel Vicente Gahona, a local cartoonist who developed a satirical vision of Yucateca society in the mid-nineteenth century.
