Hacienda with multiple cultures that employed nearly 700 workers in Oxkutzcab
In the early 18th century, Tabi was a cattle farm. Around 1780, it diversified into a hacienda with various crops such as sugarcane, corn, tobacco and henequén, employing nearly 700 workers. The peonage system, abolished with the Mexican Revolution, gradually put an end to the Hacienda's activity. Today, only the imposing casa principal remains, lost in the immensity of the surrounding countryside.
