Hacienda in Uxmal, with two outdoor swimming pools, offering spacious, ventilated and fully equipped rooms

This hacienda has been home to Queen Elizabeth II of England, Prince Rainier of Monaco and Jacqueline Kennedy... The buildings are set in a plantation of fruit trees. Given the muggy heat of the place, the two outdoor pools are more than welcome. Rooms are spacious, airy and fully equipped. Their decor is a blend of traditional Mayan and Spanish styles. A Cocoa Museum and restaurants complete the picture.

It is necessary to get there… but once you are there that is really worth trying!
Hacienda magnificent next door (on foot) visits ruins of Uxmal which are very well preserved and much less touristy than Chichen Itza (to be made with the opening because the colours are soft and the more pleasant heat:) Possibility of a French guide to visit the ruins, sound and light show in the evening in the ruins.
The visit of the chocolate museum is very interesting (history of chocolate at the Maya, vegetation of the country, animals,…)
The hotel is local colour, orange and red, flowers everywhere, steeped in history of its residents: real Mexican hacienda!
Some employees speak a little French.
