GRAN PIRÁMIDE
A pyramid that consists of 9 staggered and superimposed bases, with two accesses to Uxmal
This pyramid is composed of 9 staggered and superimposed bases. It is one of the few on the site that it is still possible to climb and its ascent is vertiginous! Two accesses are possible, by the staircase from the bottom of the pyramid, or halfway up the staircase if you arrive from the Palacio del Gobernador. It is overhung by a temple called "Templo de las Guacamayas", because this bird is the main motif of the façade. Three masks of Chac, the rain god with the long trumpet-shaped nose, also adorn this imposing building.
