MUSEO SAN ROQUE
Dusty museum that traces the history of the city of Valladolid from the pre-Hispanic period to the revolutionary era
The San Roque Museum is housed in a 16th-century building that served successively as a church, chapel and hospital. According to legend, it was in the garden of this building that the rebels who began the uprising of the Mexican Revolution were shot. This dusty, old-fashioned museum traces the history of Valladolid from pre-Hispanic times to the revolutionary era. The four exhibition rooms include some very fine archaeological finds from the Ek'Balam site.
