Beach famous for its waves, located between Punta Cancun and Punta Nizuc, where there are big hotels.

Playa Ballenas, located between Punta Cancún and Punta Nizuc, is an open sea area. It is renowned for its waves, which will attract kiteboarders and surfers alike. The currents here are strong, so it's advisable to follow the warnings of safety personnel: not ideal for families with children. The beach is far from the crowds and therefore rather quiet. There are a number of large hotels (Secrets The Vine and Hard Rock), bar-restos with palapas for shelter from the sun, as well as changing rooms, toilets and showers. No whales on the horizon, however!
