Beach lined with bars and restaurants that provide sunbeds and umbrellas, with music more or less loud.

The beaches in Mexico are free and open to all, in theory. In practice and illegally, many beach hotels turn away tourists who are not their clients. The beach between Calle 1 Norte and Avenida Benito Juárez is lined with bars and restaurants that, in exchange for your drink, provide you with sunbeds and umbrellas, with music that is more or less loud depending on the place. These places are called "beach clubs". Among the trendiest in Playa del Carmen are Mamita's Beach Club, which offers a lounge atmosphere on beds laid out on the sand - pleasant and interesting for observing the mamonés (local expression for snobs) - and the Blue Parrot. South of the pier where the boats leave for Cozumel is the Playacar real estate and hotel complex, which faces a beautiful white sand beach. This beach is not overrun with sunbeds and restaurants and is best suited for beach games and sunbathing. However, if you are not staying at the Playacar resorts, it is difficult to access. The public entrance to the beach is located on Retorno Palenque Street. The beach is also quieter north of Playa del Carmen, at Punta Esmeralda. This is a favorite spot for locals who go there on weekends; during the week it is much quieter. On this beach, there is a cenote which, according to the warning sign, is inhabited by two crocodiles..

Belle plage

A voir absolument!
