CARNAVAL DE COZUMEL

All the cultural singularities of the island are represented, especially in the Guaranducha Cozumeleña and the Torito Wacax-Ché.
In February or March, depending on the year, Cozumel hosts the region's most famous carnival, representing and showcasing the island's unique cultural expressions. Two typical Cozumel events are the Guaranducha Cozumeleña, a satire parodying the behavior of white men towards African slaves, and the Torito Wacax-Ché, in which a man wearing a wooden bull chases those who provoke him, leading to falls and other comical situations.
