Practical information : Going out Tel Aviv
Timetable
Forget the European, or rather French, rhythm. In Tel Aviv, we don't eat dinner before 22h-23h and it's useless to show you before 1 or 2 hours in a club at the risk of having to tell the barman who will take you for a rookie anyway. Most clubs are open until about 4/6am.
Budget & Tips
Be aware that the best evenings are usually Thursday and Friday, as on Saturday most Israelis rest on the Sabbath.
Night transport
Buses stop operating around midnight. There are a few night buses that run on some lines (1), but their frequency is quite low. More information on the website www.kav-layla.co.il (in Hebrew). There are also a few minibuses that run at night (line 51) and otherwise you can get home by taxi, bicycle or on foot.
Age restrictions
Alcohol is allowed from the age of 18. You may be asked for identification at the entrance to some clubs.
What's very local
Don't underestimate the Israelis you've seen all day in Crocs - sandals at best: when the Israeli goes out, he goes all out. That said, many places don't care what you look like, so choose what speaks to you the most.
Smokers
Although the legislation is the same as in France, it is not yet applied here. Expect to see people smoking almost everywhere in bars and clubs.
