AMERICAN TRADE HOTEL
A building built by the Peruvian architect Leonardo Villanueva Meyer in 1917 for the branch of the New York National City Bank, which financed part of the Canal's work. Considered the first skyscraper in the country, the four-story building with high ceilings has lost its beauty over the decades. After having hosted a bank, stores, apartments, it suffered a fire and was then squatted by a dangerous gang! Superbly restored, it is one of the most chic hotels in the area. Swimming pool, high end restaurant and jazz club.
