LA AZOTEA
A cuisine d'auteur, served in a sober, elegant decor. It's trendy but friendly, and the result is often a packed house.
It's called La Terrasse (La Azotea), but it doesn't have one! This tiny restaurant is always packed, and deservedly so! The decor is sober and elegant, but it's the cuisine (by the chef!) that really counts! As a result, the place is all the rage, even a little preppy in terms of clientele, with its convivial atmosphere. The menu is original and sophisticated, and the results... succulent! Worthy of a semi-gastro! Diners can choose from tapas (at the counter), half-portions or full portions(raciones), all beautifully presented. Le Petit Futé recommends clams à la marinière, pulpo a feria con parmentier (octopus), foie à la plancha and mango, or sea bass with artichokes(róbalo con alcachofas), while the daily slates will give you other good ideas. The desserts are just as refined, leaving us with excellent memories, like this delicious orange cream with orange blossom and gin granizado. The attentive service and various checkpoints confirm this as an excellent address, but it's best to arrive early or book in advance. The only drawback is that there are no Andalusian wines on the menu, and many of the products used come from other Spanish regions! However, don't hesitate to visit the nearby wine store of the same name for good wines, shellfish and some grilled specialties, as well as the new address near the town hall, equivalent to the present restaurant-bar.
