LA CARBONERÍA
Against all odds, this pillar of the Santa Cruz neighborhood maintains the tradition of popular flamenco. Very friendly atmosphere.
Since 2016, entry has been from a different street, and La Carbonería has halved its space. However, the death of the man who was the soul of the place hasn't altered the spirit too much. Still available is a large covered area that doubles as a bar and improvised performance space, as well as a large outdoor patio. Flamenco remains the main show, but it's also the ideal place to sit down at large tables and enjoy the house specialty: agua de Sevilla (a typical cocktail) or mojitos and caipirinhas.
