Two weeks after Easter, Seville launches the ferias season, its popular festival, with dances, songs and horse parades.

The April feria kicks off two weeks after Easter in the Los Remedios district. This is where the casetas are set up, a kind of private tent where people dance Sevillanas until the early hours of the morning. Outside, riders and locals alike dress in their finest traditional garb. The Feria is Seville's biggest popular festival, so much so that its horse-drawn carriage competitions, adorned in the finest finery, and its bullfights have become so popular. More open ferias are held throughout Andalusia, notably in August in Malaga and Almeria.
