CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA LA BLANCA
Mudejar style church, built in 1391 on the site of a synagogue
It is the street that bears the same name that once separated the Jewish quarter in two. This Mudejar-style church was built in 1391 on the site of a synagogue. But it was completely restored in the 17th century. The difference between its exterior simplicity and its interior splendour is noteworthy. Among the works in this Sevillian Baroque landmark are a Pietà by Luis de Varga, an Ecce homo by Pedro Roldán and a rather dark Holy Supper by Bartolomé Murillo (1650).
