The quintessence of the image of Seville, the Judería, the old Jewish quarter, very limited in comparison to what it was originally, offers itself as a labyrinth of streets and squares where the traveller can satisfy his curiosity in a playful manner. Beautiful white houses with wrought iron doors and facades adorned with geraniums and small squares covered with orange trees which fill in the spring… There is no route to advise, but places that deserve a dangerous quest. Here are some: Plaza Doña-Elvira, Santa-Maria-la-blanca, Hospital de los Venerables or Museo-Casa Murillo.

Mais le quartier n’a pas toujours eu cette apparence idyllique qu’elle acquiert au début du 20e siècle. En effet, à l’approche de l’exposition ibéro-américaine de 1929, le Marquis de la Vega Inclán, chargé du tourisme auprès d’Alfonse XIII, , entreprend la restauration du quartier, auquel il donne l’aspect qu’il conserve aujourd’hui en pavant les ruelles, fleurissant et embellissant les places ou aménageant les jardins, donnant ainsi au quartier le visage qu’on lui connaît maintenant.
Se trouvent également le Real Alcazar, la cathédrale a proximité.
Les couleurs, les odeurs et petites places cachées font de ce quartier un petit bijoux de Séville.
