CASTLE OF ALCALÁ DE GUADAÍRA
Fortified castle that includes an alcazar and an alcazaba, of great height with a beautiful Mudejar church
At the top of the hill, the fortified castle of Alcalá, from the Almohad period, dominates the city. It consists of an alcazar and an alcazaba, of considerable height, with a beautiful Mudejar church within the fortress. At its feet flows the River Guadaira, whose waters once powered the wheels of the mills still present on the banks. In 1924 it was declared a Monument of Historical and Artistic Interest and in 1985 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. To be appreciated also at night, for the lighting.
