ARTEDOS OSUNA
It's impossible to come to Osuna without visiting this temple of Cordovan leather craftsmanship. Run by Alberto Delgado and Manuel Morillo, this workshop began in 1995 when the two men decided to take over the former workshop of the master of the genre, Antonio Rodriguez Hidalgo. All leathers are worked by hand, using two techniques, Cordobán and Guamací, which give the material the appearance of embossed leather and can be embellished with gilding or designs for a wide variety of decorative uses: cushions, headboards, chests... for homes and hotels, but also for churches and altarpieces. If you stay at the Casas de la Judería hotel in Seville, you may be lucky enough to sleep in the room they decorated. A visit here will not only be a feast for the eyes, but also highly instructive, as it will enable you to visualize some of the key stages in the leatherworking process.
