ENCARNACIÓN CONVENT
Renaissance convent, founded in 1549 by Don Juan Téllez Giron, and occupied by the Jesuits in 1612
It dates back to the Renaissance and was founded in 1549 by Don Juan Téllez Girón, IV Count of Ureña. It was originally the Hospital de la Encarnación del Hijo de Dios, of the Son of God. In 1612 it was occupied by the Jesuits and then in 1626 by the 4th Duchess of Osuna, Doña Isabel de Sandoval y Padilla. She had a monastery built on the site of the old hospital. You will notice the plinth of the cloister, decorated with typical azulejos and whose collection is exceptional.
