EUROSTAR WASHINGTON IRVING * * * * *
Until 1999, when it closed, Real Washington Irving had been one of the most luxurious hotels in Granada. Founded in 1802, it had enjoyed its greatest splendour in the 1960s and 1970s, when its privileged location, twenty metres from the Alhambra wall, attracted visits from distinguished guests such as Gregory Peck, Camilo José Cela and even Brigitte Bardot. And after its acquisition and renovation by the international hotel chain Hotusa, it reopened in June 2016. It may have lost its 19th century charm, but today it offers a total of 63 rooms with the usual comfort and decoration for a five-star hotel. But with multiple references to the American writer, author of the Tales of the Alhambra, which will be found in the rooms and all the spaces of the hotel with quotes from the author referring to Granada and of course in a library entirely dedicated to his memory and containing many first editions of this romantic writer. Also available is a sports hall, a restaurant, an outdoor terrace with beautiful views and a swimming pool. You can't always read.
