PEÑA LA PLATERIA
Above the Santa Catalina convent in the Albaicín, this tavern with an excellent terrace overlooking the Alhambra prepares jamón y queso-based grenadine and Andalusian cuisine while serving fine wine. It's also the home of a purist flamenco association, curious about encounters of all kinds, which sometimes opens its doors to non-members on Thursdays for concerts of excellent quality. In a hall steeped in history, in winter, or outdoors in fine weather, concerts are also held on Thursdays, for a fee, with drinks or a menu. One of Spain's oldest flamenco peñas for true flamenco puro aficionados.
