VENTA EL GALLO
Juan Martin, brother of Manolo de las Cuevas los Tarantos, owns the slightly less touristy Venta El Gallo, a flamenco cueva/grotto with restaurant, well located as you head a little further towards the Sacromonte. Before the show, from the picturesque terrace with a bucolic view of the vegetation and the Alhambra, you can dine on very decent traditional cuisine, with a choice of some of Granada's specialties with Arabo-Andalusian influences, accompanied by the light-hearted repertoire of a solo guitarist, a good way to start... Then, a little kitschy (it adds to the atmosphere!) with a host of international performers, it's time for a torrid lesson in flamenco, with lively, even syncopated scenes, authentic tableaux with a thousand facets, and top-notch performers, in complete complicity! With make-up, costumes, dancing, singing and music, this hand-crafted tablao has everything it takes to thrill novices and aficionados alike.
