Its traditional masks, with a cloth on which a face is painted, attract the whole province on Piña Sunday.
It lasts a week, but its highlight is Piñata Sunday, which closes the carnival. Its greatest singularity is its traditional masks: the face is covered with a cloth on which a face is painted, and the people change their voices, the game being to recognize who is hiding behind it. Many local musical groups and costumed Alhameños participate in the festival, which attracts visitors from all over the province of Granada.
