Many bonfires are held all over Spain on St. John's Day, but Lanjarón has decided to celebrate it by honouring its two flagship products, water and ham. From midnight to 1 a.m., everyone is copiously watered, including those who watch the show on the balconies. And the next day there is a free ham distribution for everyone to make up for these waterings. It is also the occasion of a mini carnival "la publica".
