Two romerías pay tribute to the Virgen de las Nieves in the Alpujarra. One part of Trevélez to go up to Mulhacén and attend a pilgrims' mass at noon. The other from Monachil goes to the foot of the Veleta peak. The pilgrimage is done at night with a stop at Borreguiles before leaving for the 8:30 am mass. It's probably difficult, but the sunrise is sumptuous.
