MUSEO MEMORIA DE ANDALUCÍA
Museum with elliptical patio presenting temporary exhibitions and shows in its cultural center
Inaugurated in May 2009 and sponsored by the Caja Granada Bank, this museum offers a very interesting route at the heart of Andalusian history and identity. In a futuristic white building, signed by architect Alberto Campo Baeza, its elliptical patio inspired by that of the Charles V Palace of the Alhambra is impressive! Thanks to a plethora of new technologies and multimedia of last generations, interactive and playful, it is a museum to see, touch, listen and feel Andalusia. From a cartographic point of departure on the principle of a giant Pandora's box, thanks to state-of-the-art sensory systems, we can put ourselves into the shoes of more than 145 historical protagonists while browsing chronologies, windows focusing on various aspects (nature, economy…), exhibition windows, layers of memory, sound and audiovisual landscapes… An invitation to discover Andalusia, advised, before borrowing its communications channels. The agenda of its cultural centre with a media centre (free entrance), the temporary exhibitions program, shows (theatre, music…), workshops and film cycles will be closely monitored.
