Chez Francis is an old-fashioned French brasserie that's great to find in New York. The décor exudes a rustic elegance that will remind you of home, with wood and brass furniture, and a lovely counter that welcomes the liveliest of discussions. What's on the menu? Classic, tasty dishes: escargots, onion soup, steak-frites, duck breast... But what really caught our attention was the wide choice of meats and the incredible selection of wines. A little corner of France in the heart of the Big Apple, ideal for getting together with friends!

Incredibly disjointed service. We had so many different people at our table we were asked 4 times if we'd like dessert. On top of the service being poor, the food was subpar. The escargot for example were flavorless and lukewarm. I frequent many restaurants of high caliber and when you're charging 45+ for most entrees with so many other options out there you really must do better. Final note: The place was empty on a Saturday night so there was genuinely no excuse.

I booked a reservation to celebrate one milestone with my boyfriend and left as his fiancé. Everything about this experience was magical! As soon as we walked in, they informed us that they had their “most romantic table” ready for us. It was the absolute truth!
The ambience, the food, the music, and most importantly the service made for the dinner of my lifetime! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Visited Chez Francis with my wife and another couple this past Saturday evening. We had a great experience. We all shared a few hors d'oeuvres and each had our own entrée. Everyone was very happy with the quality and presentation of the food. Our server Jason was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

We had a fantastic dinner at Chez Francis, including the Raclette soufflé as a shared opener, all the way to the Grand Marnier soufflé to finish our meal. Beautiful space, great menu, friendly, attentive service and the food was superlative.

We booked this restaurant because of the strong reviews on google. We are beginning to lose confidence with google as we did with yelp.
The staff was fabulous and attentive.
The food was just not special in any way with the exception of the escargot. The onion tart was overcooked and I could barely slice into it. The dark brown crust scattered over the plate. We both had the restaurant week menu. Neither the fish nor the meat dish offered wowed us.
We had an $80 cab/frank which is a $22 bottle of wine. The wine list is too expensive.
