This synagogue built in 1952 was originally much larger, but a large part of the building was recovered by the Cuban state, which turned it into the Bertolt Brecht Theater in the early 1980s. The interior is clean and sober. There is also a small library on site to learn all about the history of the Jewish community in Cuba. Despite its small size, the Beth Shalom Synagogue is considered the main meeting point for the Jewish community on the island and its main place of worship.
