CASA DE OBRAPIA
Acquired by Captain Martín Calvo de la Puerta y Arrieta, this house housed a charitable institute between 1659 and 1669. With its 1,480 square meters, it is one of the most beautiful testimonies of the colonial baroque architecture of the capital. The Alejo Carpentier room shows the writer's office and his personal belongings, from the Cuban Embassy in France, where he served as cultural attaché. Another room exhibits furniture and porcelain objects from the Carlos III period. On the first floor, there are rooms of atmosphere and furniture from the 19th century.
