The building now houses the luxury hotel Santa Isabel. Built in the seventeenth century, the palace was purchased at the end of the eighteenth century by Count San Juan de Jaruco. At the beginning of the 19th century, one of the Counts of Santovenia made some modifications, including wrought iron railings with his initials. At the end of the 19th century, the palace was sold to an American, who turned it into a hotel and named it Santa Isabel. It was the first hotel in Havana!
