Built between 1772 and 1791, at the request of the Marquis de la Torre, this palace was intended to house the Real Casa de Correos (Royal House of Posts). In 1820, it became the Royal Office of Taxes, Accounting and Treasury of the Army, and from 1853, the residence of the segundo cabo, the second governor. Well restored, the baroque palace has housed since 2017 a new and beautiful digital museum on the five centuries of relations between Europe and Cuba with several historical and cultural themes.
